Ben Anderson Music LLC ("Ben Anderson Music," "we," "us," or "our") operates the GigNotes application ("GigNotes," the "App," or the "Service").

This Privacy Policy explains how GigNotes handles information when you use the App.

We designed GigNotes to allow you to maintain your financial and business records primarily on your own devices and, when enabled, synchronize those records through Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your GigNotes records for advertising. We do not operate an advertising network or third-party analytics service within GigNotes.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully.

1. Information You Enter Into GigNotes

GigNotes allows you to enter and store information concerning your freelance, business, or personal record-keeping activities.

Depending on the features you use, this may include:

Financial Information

You may enter information such as:

  • Income amounts;
  • Expense amounts;
  • Dates;
  • Expense categories;
  • Descriptions or notes;
  • Customer-related information;
  • Estimated tax percentages;
  • Other information associated with income and expenses; and
  • Other financial records you choose to maintain in GigNotes.

Financial information stored in GigNotes is provided by you.

Customer Information

You may enter information about customers or other people, which may include:

  • Names;
  • Contact information;
  • Notes; and
  • Other information you choose to associate with a customer.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have an appropriate basis for storing information about other individuals in GigNotes.

Transportation and Location Information

GigNotes allows you to record transportation or travel information, which may include:

  • Starting addresses;
  • Ending addresses;
  • Travel dates and times;
  • Mileage or distance information;
  • Routes or map information; and
  • Other transportation-related information you choose to record.

Receipts and Documents

GigNotes may allow you to scan receipts and other documents using your device.

Documents and images that you scan may contain personal, financial, business, or other information.

The information contained in scanned documents is information that you choose to provide to GigNotes.

2. Information Generated by GigNotes

GigNotes may generate information based on information you provide.

For example, GigNotes may calculate:

  • Total income;
  • Total expenses;
  • Income less expenses;
  • Other financial summaries;
  • Estimated tax amounts based on a percentage entered by you; and
  • Information included in reports and exports.

These calculations are generated from information and assumptions provided by you.

GigNotes does not independently verify the accuracy of your financial information or determine your actual tax liability.

3. Information Stored on Your Device

GigNotes is designed to store your records locally on your device using Apple's data-storage technologies.

Information you enter into GigNotes may therefore remain on your device even when you are not connected to the internet.

You are responsible for maintaining control of your device and protecting access to it.

The availability and behavior of local storage may depend on your device, operating system, available storage, and Apple's applicable technologies.

4. iCloud and CloudKit Synchronization

If you use iCloud synchronization with GigNotes, your GigNotes records may be synchronized through Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services.

This may include information such as:

  • Financial records;
  • Customer information;
  • Transportation and location-related records;
  • Receipts and scanned documents;
  • Notes and descriptions;
  • Reports or other stored information; and
  • Other information that you choose to store in GigNotes.

GigNotes does not operate its own cloud database containing your GigNotes records.

Instead, synchronization is provided through Apple's iCloud and CloudKit infrastructure.

Your use of iCloud is subject to Apple's applicable terms and privacy practices.

5. No GigNotes User Account

GigNotes does not require you to create a separate GigNotes account in order to use the App.

GigNotes does not maintain a separate username/password account system for your records.

Where iCloud synchronization is used, Apple's services may associate synchronized information with the Apple Account or iCloud account used on your device.

6. Information We Do Not Collect Through GigNotes

GigNotes does not operate its own advertising or analytics system.

To the extent the App operates as described above, Ben Anderson Music LLC does not intentionally collect through GigNotes:

  • Advertising identifiers for advertising purposes;
  • Browsing history;
  • Contact lists from your device;
  • Your personal communications;
  • A separate profile of your financial activity for advertising purposes; or
  • Your GigNotes records for sale to third parties.

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not use your financial records to serve you targeted advertisements.

7. Location and MapKit

GigNotes uses Apple's MapKit and related Apple location and mapping functionality to provide features such as address searching, maps, and transportation-related functionality.

When you use these features, information may be processed by Apple in accordance with Apple's applicable privacy policies and terms.

GigNotes does not use your location information for advertising.

GigNotes only accesses location-related functionality when you use features that require or support it, subject to the permissions and controls provided by Apple's operating system.

You can manage location permissions for GigNotes through your device's privacy settings.

Map information, addresses, routes, and distances may be provided by Apple or other underlying mapping services and may not always be accurate.

8. Receipt Scanning

When you use GigNotes to scan a receipt or document, the App uses supported capabilities of your Apple device to capture the document.

GigNotes does not intentionally transmit scanned documents to Ben Anderson Music LLC for manual review or processing.

Scanned documents may be stored as part of your GigNotes records and, if iCloud synchronization is enabled, may be synchronized through Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services.

You should review scanned information for accuracy and avoid scanning documents containing information that you do not wish to store in GigNotes.

9. PDF and CSV Exports

GigNotes allows you to generate PDF reports and CSV exports.

These exports are generated at your direction.

When you export information, you control what happens to the resulting file, including whether you save it, share it, email it, upload it, or provide it to another person.

Once you intentionally share an exported file with another person or service, that person's or service's handling of the information is governed by their own privacy practices and terms.

For example, if you export a CSV file and provide it to your accountant, your accountant's handling of that information is not controlled by Ben Anderson Music LLC.

10. Information We Receive From Apple

Apple may provide certain information to developers in connection with App Store distribution, purchases, subscriptions, crash reporting, or other platform functions.

The information available to Ben Anderson Music LLC depends on Apple's systems, your settings, and the nature of your interaction with the App.

Apple separately processes information associated with your Apple Account, App Store activity, device, and use of Apple's services according to Apple's privacy practices.

You should review Apple's privacy policy for information about Apple's handling of such data.

11. Crash Reports and Diagnostics

GigNotes itself is not designed to operate a separate third-party crash-reporting or analytics service.

Apple may provide developers with diagnostic, crash, or performance information through Apple's developer and App Store services.

Any such information is subject to Apple's applicable policies and your device and Apple Account settings.

12. How We Use Information

We use information associated with GigNotes primarily to:

  • Provide and maintain the App;
  • Provide the features you request;
  • Perform calculations and generate reports;
  • Facilitate data export;
  • Support compatibility and functionality;
  • Respond to support requests;
  • Improve the App;
  • Address bugs and technical issues;
  • Comply with applicable law; and
  • Protect the rights, safety, and security of Ben Anderson Music LLC, our users, and others.

We do not use your GigNotes financial records for targeted advertising.

13. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not rent your personal information.

We do not provide your GigNotes financial records to advertisers.

GigNotes may involve information being processed or stored by service providers necessary to operate the App and Apple's platform services, including Apple services such as iCloud, CloudKit, and MapKit.

We may also disclose information when required to do so by law, legal process, court order, or other valid governmental request, or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or prevent fraud or abuse.

14. Information You Choose to Share

GigNotes gives you control over exporting and sharing your records.

If you choose to send or share a PDF report, CSV file, receipt, document, or other information with another person or service, you are responsible for that disclosure.

Examples include sharing information with:

  • An accountant;
  • A tax professional;
  • A business partner;
  • An employer or client;
  • A cloud-storage service;
  • An email provider; or
  • Another person or organization.

Once you voluntarily share information outside GigNotes, the recipient's privacy practices govern their subsequent handling of that information.

15. Data Retention

GigNotes does not maintain a separate central database of your financial records.

Your records may remain on your device and, if enabled, in your iCloud/CloudKit data.

You control the deletion of records within GigNotes, subject to Apple's storage and synchronization behavior.

Deleting information from GigNotes does not necessarily mean that every copy, backup, cache, or version associated with Apple's services is immediately or permanently deleted.

Apple's retention and deletion practices may apply to information stored through iCloud and CloudKit.

16. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to design GigNotes so that your information is handled using Apple's security and platform technologies.

GigNotes is designed to store information locally on your device and use Apple's iCloud and CloudKit infrastructure for synchronization rather than maintaining our own separate financial-data server.

However, no electronic storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your Apple Account;
  • Using appropriate device security, such as a passcode or biometric authentication;
  • Keeping your device and operating system reasonably up to date; and
  • Protecting exported files and documents that you create or share.

17. Children's Privacy

GigNotes is intended for general use and is not specifically directed toward children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through a separate GigNotes account or registration system.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through GigNotes in a manner that raises a privacy concern, please contact us.

18. Your Privacy Choices

Depending on the information involved and the laws applicable to you, you may have rights concerning your personal information.

GigNotes provides functionality that allows you to:

  • View information stored in the App;
  • Modify or delete records;
  • Export information through supported export features; and
  • Control device permissions for features such as location access.

You may also control iCloud and device-level permissions through Apple's settings.

Because GigNotes does not maintain a separate central database of your financial records, many actions concerning your records can be performed directly within the App or through your Apple device and iCloud settings.

19. United States Privacy Rights

Certain U.S. states provide residents with specific privacy rights, which may include rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain information about certain personal data.

The availability and scope of these rights depend on the laws applicable to you.

Because GigNotes is designed not to maintain a separate central database of your financial records, we may not possess or control all information stored within your App or iCloud account.

20. International Users

GigNotes is operated from the United States.

If you use GigNotes from outside the United States, your information may be processed or stored through Apple's services in accordance with Apple's applicable privacy practices and the configurations of those services.

You are responsible for determining whether your use of GigNotes is appropriate under the laws applicable to you.

21. Third-Party Services

GigNotes relies on Apple's platform technologies and services.

These may include:

  • Apple iCloud;
  • Apple CloudKit;
  • Apple MapKit;
  • Apple App Store services; and
  • Other Apple-provided operating-system functionality necessary to operate the App.

GigNotes does not intentionally include third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or other third-party tracking libraries.

Apple's handling of information through its services is governed by Apple's own privacy policies and terms.

You should review Apple's privacy documentation for additional information concerning Apple's services.

22. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If we make material changes, we may provide notice through GigNotes, our website, the App Store, or another reasonable method.

The updated Privacy Policy will be posted at:

The "Effective Date" at the beginning of this Privacy Policy indicates when the current version became effective.

24. Apple Privacy Information

GigNotes is distributed through Apple's App Store.
