Hi, I’m Ben.
I am a bass player, software engineer, and proud creator of GigNotes.
I started gigging at 17 years old, and had no idea how to keep track of my income. At first, I tried keeping notes on my phone, but it wasn’t really a helpful format for taxes.
I moved to spreadsheets, but that took too much time. I would forget to log work, and copying formulas year to year was difficult.
Meanwhile, I was working on a computer science degree and built an early desktop version of GigNotes. That prototype solved a lot of my spreadsheet difficulties, but entering data on a computer was still a hassle. After college I started working full time as a software engineer and became interested in simple design and familiar user experience.
